Meet Sophie.
(Written June 2025):
Sophie is a courageous, imaginative 3-year-old, who lights up the world with her love for Minnie Mouse, unicorns, and all things pink & magical.
Earlier this year, Sophie was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)–a rare, aggressive form of blood cancer. Since then, she’s been bravely enduring intensive chemotherapy, with a bone marrow transplant on the horizon.
As a young child with autism, Sophie’s battle brings unique challenges to an already overwhelming journey–but her strength, spirit, and sparkle shine through every single day.
By her side–always in heart, even when apart–is her 7-year-old big brother, Bobby (Robert the fifth) who adores Pokémon, misses his mama fiercely, and loves Sophie with all he’s got. Their bond is powerful, and this fight has shaken their world.
To keep Sophie safe while immunocompromised, her mother had to close her cherished home daycare. Now this loving family is facing cancer with one income, mounting medical demands, and countless nights apart.
